We figure out the cause of our previous issue, it takes understanding the component lify cycle and when web part properties are updated, what events are triggered in the component. We also discover how important error handling is when dealing with real SP data. This is required for the content manager as they update List Name in the web part property. Lastly, we take a look at the User Information list and how to combine the User Info results with the KeyContacts results to complete the collection by adding in the profile picture url.
